This is a fun stubby slalom race especially for U8, U10 and U12 skiers. These races are not seeded.

Limited to circa 100 racers on a first come first booked basis.

Please add yourself to the waiting list once the Race is full.  The Waiting List provides details of order of wait list entry and racers will be added in the order of entry onto the Waiting List where we can accommodate.

The format for the race will be:

  • Bib issue (from 11:30)
  • Open practice (from 12 Noon) - details of where Open Practice will take place will be advised shortly
  • Inspection
  • Run 1
  • Run 2
  • Run 3 - where possible / time / conditions permitting 
  • Bib return after last Run
  • Prize giving


Race Information:

Race entry is £22 per entrant.  This includes the racers slope pass for the duration of open practice and races.  All racers must wear and have visible the number on their allocated race bib when on the slope (open practice and during the race).

Race Entry will close on the earlier of when the race is full or 11th July 2020.

The race will be run in accordance with FIS rules as published in the BACR.  Please see www.gbski.com for BACR rules.  The race is not seeded.

SMK will formulate a Race Jury comprising of a Snowsport England Level 4 Alpine Official as Chief of Race and other roles will be fulfilled by other suitably trained personnel.

SMK Timing Systems will be used for the race and this will be the official timing.

We will require Parents to volunteer and assist on the slope in various roles.

All age categories (U8, U10 and U12) are eligible to enter the race within their correct age groups, irrespective of the age groups in which they may train.  

  • U8 - 2013 & 2014 Year of Birth
  • U10 - 2011 & 2012 Year of Birth
  • U12 - 2009 & 2010 Year of Birth

Prizes will be awarded for places 1 to 5 in each age group, male and female based on their fastest run time.

The overall Girls and Boys results will be based on the fastest run time in the competition and awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Prize Giving will take place at the end of the event.


Athlete Declaration:

To enter this race, racers must comply with GB Snowsport Athlete Declaration (as included due to SMK Affiliation with Snowsport England). 

For racers who are current members of Snowsport England, Snowsport Scotland or Snowsport Wales Affiliated Clubs or Competitor Members of Snowsport England, Snowsport Scotland or Snowsport Wales will have completed this declaration.

All non-Club members, are requested to read the GB Snowsports Athlete Declaration (please follow the attached link https://gbski.com/docstore/forms/Athletes%20Declaration.pdf) and during the registration process and click to have read and accepted the Athletes Declaration form.

Unfortunately we are prevented under our affiliation with Snowsport England for insurance purposes, to allow any entries without such acceptance.


Athlete / Racer Entrants Requirements:

The following are for everyone's safety.

To enter this race, all entrants MUST be able to use the Poma Button Lift unsupervised (lift attendants will be in attendance for health and safety purposes and not to assist those who cannot utilise the lifts unsupervised)

To enter this race, all entrants MUST be able to ski unsupervised in a safe and controlled manner.  

For health and safety reasons the Race Jury and Snozone have the right to prevent or remove any Entrants who fail to fulfil these requirements, without refund of race entry fees. 


Catsuits are permitted, but we recommend that racers do not use them as the advantage indoors is considered negligible for these age groups. 

Due to insurance requirements, Racers will be not permitted to start, where they have non-manufacturers applied stickers, third party attachments or novelty helmet covers, or action camera mounts or other mounts. The Race Jury will have the final say in this matter.

Parents / Legal Guardians of Entrants must remain within the demise of Snozone during the programme with their Entrants.


Race Event Information:

No ski preparation will be allowed on site or within the car park.

No parents will be allowed on the slope or at the start area.

No external food is allowed or to be consumed within Snozone.  The Alpine Cafe will be open for the sale of food and drink.

All skis to be stored in a safe manner and off the slope.

Only Pre-Accredited Qualified Coaches may accompany their Racers during Course Inspection. The Race Invitation will detail the Pre-Accreditation Process.
